What is Moodle?
Moodle is a software package for producing internet-based courses and web sites - http://moodle.org/
For you, this means you can login from home, an internet café, anywhere with an internet connection and be able to view your course work outside of Waiariki.
How do I access eCampus?
In the address bar of your Internet browser, type: http://ecampus.waiariki.ac.nz

Logging in to eCampus
1.Click in the username box on the main page
2.Type in your username supplied to you by your tutor
3.Type in your password and click on the Login button

4. If you receive the screen below, either your username or password is incorrect. Check that your username is correct, and retype your password and click Login again. If you continue to receive this error, please contact the Waiariki Helpdesk on extension 8755 or email helpdesk@waiariki.ac.nz

5.If you have logged in correctly, you will see the following screen.

Features
Reading Forum Messages
1.Clicking on eCampus News takes you to a forum with general announcements and news about Waiariki

2.To read the messages in the forum, click on the discussion name. You can see who the message was created by, replies, and the date that a post was last made.

Viewing Course Information
1.The main eCampus page has a block with links to courses you have enrolled in. You can click on All courses to see the full list.

2.Click on the course you are attending eg New Zealand Diploma in Business. Below is a screen shot example of a course that the New Zealand Diploma in Business offers.

3.To view course information, click on the Course Name, this opens a new page shown below.

Each course will be setup slightly differently. However, almost everything in red is a "link" and is clickable. So for the above example, these links will take you to a new page, and provide you with information.
Down the left hand side of the page, you will see more red links. For this course, there are quizzes and resources. Here you are able to take an online quiz to check your skill level, and access information for your course.
In the search box, you can type in keywords for example "help" and this will search all the eCampus forums.
Navigating your way around eCampus
As mentioned above, most things in red are links and are clickable. Navigation is usually found on the top of the page, as well as down the left hand side.
In the example below, and on every page, there will be a "Home" link at the top left hand side of each page. Clicking here will take you page to the main page in eCampus.

Logging off eCampus
For security reasons you should always log out of eCampus. This stops people without correct access viewing your personal information.
Either at the top or the bottom of each page there will be an option to logout of eCampus. Simply click the logout link.
